Getting Ready



Well it’s a scaled down family trip this time. But we are nearly ready for our overland Italian adventure. Travel, accommodation & several sites booked and first train to catch in less than 2 hours.

But of a tight squeeze - last day of term for Liz, Kathryn finishing work experience & and I had a 200+ mile round trip to collect Sam from the Lakes.

Could be a hot one too!

 and catching our breath! Writing from our hostel room at Fiap Jean Monnet, after a day visiting a few sights. Here we are at the Rodin Museum, the Thinker just behind. After lunch we made our way to Pere Lachaise, a gigantic cemetery, where many notables have their final resting place. On the way we dropped in the Victor Hugo’s house. It was great to see the picture that inspired the posters and publicity. Yesterday we divided forces. Kathryn & I made our way to Lollapalooza. A certain Irish singer appealed to my daughter! Sam & Liz took in more sights, including Cafe de Flore and Shakespeare & Company. There were more famous graves too.
